Bodhi House Retreat is our first full personal meditation retreat kit to be developed.
The purpose of this retreat kit is to allow you to create the experience of a structured retreat, lasting anywhere from a few hours to a few days and to not have to watch the clock or think about what is coming up next during the retreat itself. Using this kit in conjunction meditations and talks that are freely available for download on the internet you will be able to sit for a couple hours, a whole day, or longer and be guided through the experience of a mediation retreat.
The voice you hear leading this retreat is that of John Mulligan, He has been active in Buddhist Prison Ministry as well as the Director of Bodhi House, a non-sectarian Buddhist spiritual community located near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. He actively supports the Buddhist and mindfulness meditation communities of South-Central Pennsylvania as the founder and senior teacher of the Insight Meditation Community of Gettysburg.
To hear John’s voice you can listen to our “Sound Check” file below.
The kit can be used by people of any or no spiritual tradition. You simply use the components that work best for your needs.
The use of the kit is completely dependent on the ability to create playlists. If you are unable to do this the kit will be of little use to you. If you know how to create playlists all is good. If you have never created a playlist before please visit this page to practice creating a playlist before you order and download this kit.
This kit is not meant to completely replicate the experience of a teacher-led daylong or residential retreat experience. If you have never been on a retreat before we strongly suggest you attend a retreat led by a qualified leader before using this kit. This will give you a better feel for the flow and dynamics of the retreat experience.
